To Russia with Love: Moscow, Kazan & St. Petersburg To Russia with Love: Moscow, Kazan & St. Petersburg
To Russia with Love is an extraordinary tour, exploring the very different cities of Moscow and St Petersburg, plus heading off the tourist trail to Kazan, a true step back in time to one of the oldest cultures in Russia.

There is so much to explore in this vast country, with a rich history that has been bloody and turbulent, where wealth and opulence have sent it into revolution and where today it is almost unrecognisable from its recent Communist past.

We will spend 12 days gaining insight into its amazing culture, exploring its history and how it operates today.  In Moscow, we dine with a university professor who has lived through communism and today's version of democracy, we can shop in Moscow a city that is covered in brands and is no longer a drab and brown metropolis.  We explore the Kremlin, its palace and the Armory showcasing the excesses of the past.  A backstage visit to the Bolshoi theatre and behave like a spy as we explore the city of Moscow.   For those who wish to, a day trip into the countryside to explore more of the 'old' Russia as opposed to the glitzy new.

A quick flight takes us to Kazan, and an entirely different style of city and culture.  History abounds with the Tatar merchants who used to inhabit the city and then we explore even more of its spectacular Kremlin and the historical part of the city.

It is then to St Petersburg, where the citizens literally sacrificed themselves to protect the beauty of their city during the second world war.  St Petersburg defies description.  It is so different to Moscow.  There are so many beautiful structures that still drip with the excesses of the past that it is overwhelming.  In Moscow there are wide boulevard style streets and marshmallow coloured buildings.  In St Petersburg they are rich greens and bold golds, castles and beautiful gardens.  There is the Faberge museum that will literally take your breath away and the Hermitage is somewhere where you could be lost for days in art heaven.....not to mention the diamond collection.

Of course there is lots of fun stuff too, with vodka and caviar tasting, shopping, cooking in the park, a picnic, the spy game, 5-star accommodation and so much more.

If this sounds like you and Russia is on your list then this tour you should choose.  Fully escorted from Moscow by Andrea Powis, you will be astounded by this extraordinary destination and it will leave you wanting to discover more.
